WASHINGTON — Tens of thousands of young Americans came Monday to the nation’s capital, drawn by their hopes and dreams for America’s future symbolized by the swearing-in of President Barack Obama to a second term as president.

Their aspirations for the country ranged from the goal of an improved economy to the wish for more cooperation by politicians.

WASHINGTON – A canopy of cell-phone cameras covered the excited crowd as President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama made their way onto the stage at the Inaugural Ball Monday night. The first lady, wearing a glamorous ruby-red Jason Wu gown, stole the spotlight when she and her husband danced to “Let’s Stay Together,” sung by Jennifer Hudson as the Presidential Inauguration came to a close Monday night. WASHINGTON – Left-wing groups protested Monday at the inauguration of a Democratic president who delivered a liberal dream of health care reform in his first term.

More than 250 demonstrators brought liberal messages to the nation’s capital, chanting their disappointment with President Barack Obama’s foreign policy record.
